On May 15, 2024, a DAAF contact at Adeoyo State Hospital informed us about children in urgent need of antibiotics, which were prohibitively expensive for many families, with some costing as much as 11,000 Naira per pack and requiring two doses per day. They sought our assistance, and by May 16, 2024, our project management team had arranged to deliver the necessary medications to the hospital by May 17, 2024.
We initially focused on one patient, a boy who required ten packs of antibiotics, costing 110,000 Naira. Upon delivery, another urgent case was identified: a girl needing the same medication and quantity, costing 110,000 Naira. Additionally, another girl required nutritional food supplements, costing 5,500 Naira per pack, for which we provided ten packs, totalling 55,000 Naira. These items were delivered on Friday, summing up to 275,000 Naira.
We thank God Almighty for enabling us to respond swiftly and effectively. This highlights DAAF’s ability to address crises and make a tangible impact on lives within just 48 hours.
